Sara is a table lamp that combines travertine with walnut or oak in a compact sculptural form, roughly 30 cm high and 15 cm wide. Travertine is a limestone that builds up in layers around mineral springs, and cutting it exposes exactly that history: open pores dotted across the face, faint horizontal banding, and colour that drifts from cream through sand to warm ochre within the same piece. Honed rather than mirror polished, the stone stays matt and slightly chalky, so the pores catch shadow and the surface never glares. The wood is the counterweight. Walnut brings a deep brown with a close, wavy figure; oak stays pale with an open, straight grain, and the two options give the same lamp two quite different characters. Where the stone is cool and mineral, the wood is warm and organic, and putting them directly together is what makes the object read as designed rather than assembled. The light source is included and the output is deliberately warm and low, which suits a lamp of this scale: it draws the texture out of both materials and leaves a soft pool on the surface underneath rather than lighting the whole room. Because the base is stone, the lamp also has more weight than its size suggests, so it stays put on a smooth dresser or a polished shelf.

At 30 cm this lamp fits the surfaces where a full size table lamp would be too tall and a tiny one would vanish. On a bedside table it is the right height for light to fall on a book without shining into the face of anyone lying down, and its footprint of about 15 cm leaves room for the things that actually live there. On a sideboard or a dresser it works as one of a pair or as a single warm point at one end, breaking up a long empty surface and giving the wall behind it a soft gradient. On a desk it is a companion light rather than a task light, taking the edge off the contrast between a bright screen and a dark room during winter evenings. It also suits a shelf, a windowsill or a hallway console. Materially, this is a lamp that behaves well in rooms already built from natural things: oak floors, linen curtains, wool throws, ceramics, rattan. The stone gives a hard, cool surface among all that softness, and the wood ties the lamp back to the furniture, so it sits inside the scheme instead of standing apart from it. In a room where every other surface is painted or upholstered, this is often the only object with a genuinely mineral texture, and that alone changes how the space reads at night.

Two natural materials in one small object costs more to make than a single moulded shell, and that is the whole argument for this lamp. The travertine is cut and hollowed rather than pressed, so it carries real weight, keeps its pores through the full depth of the surface, and will look the same in twenty years as it does on delivery. The wood is solid and finished lightly enough that you can still feel the grain under a finger, and it will darken slightly and evenly with age. Because both parts are natural, no two lamps are identical, and the stone in yours will differ in pore density and tone from the one in the photograph. That variation is the reason to choose material over finish. A light source is included, so the lamp works out of the box with nothing else to order. Sara suits people furnishing a bedroom or living room in a natural, minimalist or Japandi direction, anyone who wants a lamp small enough for a crowded surface but substantial enough to be worth looking at, and buyers who would rather own one piece made from real materials than three made from painted plastic. Choose walnut if the room already leans dark and warm, oak if it is pale and Scandinavian, and the same lamp will read as two quite different objects.
