The proportions are the second argument. It is deliberately narrow, so it can be used singly without dominating, or repeated in a row without the ceiling looking crowded, and the dark ceiling plate keeps the attention on the stone rather than on the hardware holding it. Every shade is cut from a different section of the bed, so tone varies from a cool grey beige to a warm sand, and the density of the natural voids varies with it. That is the point of the material and not a defect. It is made for interiors that lean Japandi, Wabi Sabi or plainly modern, where the appeal is in honest material and restraint rather than in shape or colour. If you want a pendant that lights an entire room from one point, look at a wider or glass shaded fixture instead.
